Island Peak Mountaineering Expedition

Island Peak headwall, ridge and summit
Island Peak headwall, ridge and summit

‘Island Peak’ is named due to its striking location in the middle of the Chukkung Valley, like an island in a sea of ice and is one of the famous ‘trekking peaks’ of Nepal. It is an excellent introduction to climbing in the Himalayas.

A fantastic 6000m peak that offers a technical challenge, climbing a steep headwall and summit ridge (on fixed ropes), glacier/crevasse travel and epic views of surrounding peaks - Ama Dablam, Lhotse Face and Mansalu. This is a classic peak whether it’s your first 6000m peak or you’ve bagged a bunch and want to tick this classic off!

Although no previous climbing experience is required you must be very fit and have extensive outdoor experience to participate in this Expedition.
