Mera Peak Mountaineering Expedition

Buddha Eyes, Khumbu Region, Everest Base Camp Trek
Buddha Eyes, Khumbu Region, Everest Base Camp Trek

A trip to Mera Peak takes you through a remote region of Nepal from densely forested hillsides up to the alpine zone featuring numerous glaciers and towering spires. Mera peak at 6421m is the highest of the trekking peaks in the Khumbu region and is one of the most popular trekking peaks in Nepal.

Mera Peak is situated to the South of Everest and only requires very basic mountaineering experience. The ascent of the peak is technically straightforward, but sometimes, heavy snow and the maze of crevasses can make the way to the summit a little tricky. We climb the standard route from the north that involves little more than high altitude glacier walking.

To gain the summit, willpower and stamina are required but the feeling of achievement to top out on this 6,421meter giant is incredible. From the summit of Mera Peak we can see 5 of the 6 highest mountains in the world: Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyo.

Although no previous climbing experience is required you must be very fit and have extensive outdoor experience to participate in this Expedition.
