'Hakuba-Cruiser' (Ski hosting) Hakuba Ski Resorts

The Hakuba area will be our base to explore the 9 ski resorts at our disposal

We choose the best resort to ski powder - Cortina one day accessing it's superb tree skiing or Happo One another with its larger open slopes. There's something for everyone with huge corduroy groomers looking over alpine lakes, idyllic views of the Japanese Alps, great onfield resort bars & restaurants.

If you'd like to learn some basic backcountry skinning skills Paul can take you to some gentle powder slopes to have a go.

We'll have a day off visiting one of Japan's oldest temples and the legendary snowmonkeys who bask in their own hotpools.

We'll stay in a Swiss Chalet style hotel that even has its own Onsen Spa pool - great after a kick ass day on the slopes!

'The Hakuban' (Backcountry Ski Touring) Hakuba Backcountry

Unlike many other Japanese resorts Hakuba offers 9 ski resorts accessing huge, open backcountry terrain - the start of the extensive Japanese Alps.

The highest mountainous region in Japan means you can mix up the ridiculously good tree skiing with big, steep burly 1000m vertical lines! It's only a 4 hour train ride from Tokyo too! Purrrrfect.

There's plenty of options to go 'North-facing' or 'South-facing' depending on what the snow pack is doing to get out and score great powder turns on stunning terrain.

From our swiss style chalet base that has its own Onsen in party area Echoland, there's some cool little bars & restaurants where the seasoners hang out to top off a great day of deep powder riding.

'Cortina Highflyers' (Heli-ski / Side Country) Cortina

The well situated Cortina resort hotel is a ski-in-ski-out hotel in a powder sugar bowl that reaps a phenomenal amount of powder because of it's north-facing aspect.

The storm cycle comes off the Sea of Japan and often delivers more snow than the other Hakuba ski resorts...some 12 meters average snow fall per season.

But the beauty of Cortina is that it offers perfect, spaced steep tree runs that keeps you going back for more.

This coupled with multiple onsens, saunas, steam rooms, restaurants makes for the ultimate convenient powder experience.

Heli-skiing is also offered from the base of the Hotel to whisk us away into the higher Japanese Alps.
